Isabelle Jamois is from San Diego, California and is completing her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance with a minor in the Business of Music with Marina Piccinini at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She previously attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and studied with Jill Felber.

A seasoned soloist, Isabelle was a finalist and named a protégé of the Musical Merit Foundation of Greater San Diego in summer 2022 and was also distinguished as a Fenstermaker Scholar. She was invited to return to perform a recital in La Jolla at the La Jolla Presbyterian Church in November 2022. In 2021, Isabelle was a semifinalist in the same competition and won first place in the Winds division of the Music Scholarship Council’s annual competition. She has also performed in masterclasses taught by renowned flutists such as Adriana Ferreira, Karin Bonelli, Marina Piccinini, Aaron Goldman, Jeffrey Khaner, and Leone Buyse. Isabelle is currently a member of the Young Artists Guild for the Music Teachers Association of California and recently appointed Haynes Young Artist.

In June 2023, Isabelle attended the program The Complete 21st Century Flutist: The Global Artist, where she spent 3 weeks in Mondovì, Italy honing her artistry with renowned faculty such as Lady Jeanne Galway and Gudrun Hinze.

Isabelle is an active collaborator. In her time so far at the Peabody Institute, she has premiered 3 works by student composers as part of the annual Flutists and Composers Concert. She also has performed and collaborated with students from the Peabody Conservatory’s Music for New Media department, performed in the Class of 2022 Commencement Concert, assisted with the annual Junior Bach Program for Peabody’s musical outreach for Baltimore’s youth, worked with numerous student conductors in various orchestral recitals and performed in the 2023 Flute and Percussion Recital and Bach Marathon concert. She is also the recipient of the Peabody Institute’s Evergreen and Premier Talent scholarships.

Isabelle plays in the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, Conductors Orchestra, and the Old Bay New Music Ensemble, a group dedicated to premiering ensemble works by student composers. Isabelle is also a founding member and artistic director of Aura Winds, a Baltimore-based woodwind quintet, established in the spring of 2023. Together, Isabelle and her quintet have performed at the Peabody Institute, the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore, and twice at the Walters Art Museum. In the summer of 2022, Isabelle attended the Eastern Music Festival, where she studied with Jake Fridkis and honed her orchestral abilities through 5 weeks of intensive study. She has worked with renowned conductors such as Marin Alsop, Gerard Schwarz, Mei Ann Chen, and in November 2022 performed as principal flute in the opera Cendrillon by Massenet, conducted by Bryan Garner.

Isabelle is also an avid fitness enthusiast, baker, and is also fluent in French and Spanish.
