A Genesis Preview
Join Gareth Davies, Principal Flute of the London Symphony Orchestra and Haynes Artist, with Korinne Smith, David Schipani & Joy Roberts for an exclusive preview of the new Haynes Genesis prototype.
Through conversation and live performance, explore sound, colors, flexibility, and expression in modern flute playing while experiencing an exciting first look at a model not yet officially released.

Experience the world premiere of a groundbreaking Haynes Custom Wooden Headjoint prototype as Nestor Torres unveils its rich, expressive sound—personally designed for him by Aiven O'Leary.
Celebrating Steven Finley
This year, our very own Finley is the recipient of the highest honor available from the National Flute Association.
The NFA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Finley will receive this honor at the ceremony taking place before the Gala Concert on
Saturday at 5:30-7:30PM in the Deschutes Ballroom.
There will also be a Tribute Concert - specially curated by Finley with a hand selected group of flutists playing some of his favorite works in the repertoire on Saturday at 11:30AM-12:45PM in Oregon Ballroom 201. This concert is open to all to attend and will feature Haynes Artists such as Gareth Davies, Marianne Gedigian, Sabina Laurain, Tara Helen O’Connor, Gareth McLearnon & Emma Shubin. The program will include a brand new arrangement of one of Finley’s favorite works Arthur Foote: A Night Piece for solo flute & flute ensemble.

Haynes Artist Gareth Davies brings a richly expressive programme to his NFA Spotlight Recital, with music by Morfydd Llwyn Owen, Electra Perivolaris, and Jonathan Slade. From Welsh lyricism to vivid contemporary colour, this is a chance to hear Gareth’s unmistakable artistry in one of the convention’s featured recital slots.

Haynes Artist Nestor Torres brings his unmistakable voice to Portland, appearing in the Opening Gala Concert, Trailblazing and Discovery, and later in his Spotlight Recital, Del Caribe, Soy! Expect virtuosity, warmth, jazz fire, Latin colour, and the soulful storytelling that has made Nestor one of the flute’s most distinctive artists.

Haynes Artist Marianne Gedigian presents a beautifully balanced Spotlight Recital with pianist Beilin Han, featuring Martinů’s First Sonata, Bartók’s Suite Paysanne Hongroise, Valerie Coleman’s Wish Sonatine, and William Grant Still’s Summerland. It is a rich, wide-ranging programme: lyrical, rhythmic, characterful, and full of colour.

2025 Winner’s Recital
Haynes Young Artist Hyeonjeong Choi presents her 2025 Young Artist Competition Winner Recital at NFA Portland. A brilliant emerging voice in the flute world, Choi brings precision, imagination, and poise to a high-profile recital celebrating her competition success and marking an important next step in her growing international career.
Saturday Night Gala Concert - 8PM - 10PM - Oregon Ballroom
This year we are thrilled to have TWO Haynes Artists playing in the Saturday Night Gala Concert with Orchestra. London Symphony Orchestra Principal Flute Gareth Davies will play “Voyage” for Flute & Strings by John Corigliano. And our former European Artist-in-Residence Gareth McLearnon will give the World Premiere performance of a specially commissioned Flute & Strings work entitled “ORIGINS” by Taylor Scott Davis.
