Sadie Goodman is pursuing her bachelor's degree at New England Conservatory, where she studies with Paula Robison. A recipient of numerous national and international honors, she most recently won the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition, performing Ibert’s Flute Concerto with the NEC Symphony in March 2026. In 2022, she was named a YoungArts Finalist in Classical Music, the organization’s highest distinction. At age 13, she won the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition, making her Carnegie Hall debut.
Her other honors include winning the NFMC Ernest A. Bluhm Flute Award and being named a Laureate of the 2020 Sound Espressivo International Competition. She has also won first place at the San Francisco Flute Society Competition, MAP International Music Competition, Floot Fire Soloist Competition, and NY Flute Club Young Musicians Contest. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk Youth Symphony, and American Chamber Orchestra.
A passionate orchestral musician, Sadie has performed in major concert halls across Europe, Mexico, Asia, and North America. She currently serves as Principal Flutist of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under Benjamin Zander, having previously held the same position with the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra and Norwalk Youth Symphony. In 2023, she was selected to perform with Carnegie Hall’s NYO-USA.
Sadie is also deeply engaged in chamber music, having collaborated in ensembles throughout New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Canada. In 2023, she performed with the New Asia Chamber Music Society. She has performed in masterclasses for Emmanuel Pahud, Jasmine Choi, Julien Beaudiment, Robert Langevin, Jeanne Baxtresser, and Marina Piccinini. Sadie previously studied with Carol Wincenc at Juilliard Pre-College and with Adrianne Greenbaum for many years prior.
In addition to her dedication to the flute, Sadie is an avid runner and completed the New York City Marathon in November 2025.
