Wholesale Accounts Manager | Retail Sales - Wm. S. Haynes Co.
Blair Mothersbaugh can often be found wandering in nature with a flute and a backpack. Awestruck by the music found in the natural world, he is committed to understanding how such patterns influence music in the human tradition. A native of the Mountain West, Blair grew up in nature - camping, hiking, on the water, and under the stars. The outdoors is his first love, and the greatest source of inspiration in his life.
As a musician, Blair has performed throughout the United States and Europe. He has shared the stage with diverse chamber groups, symphony orchestras, and award-winning groups such as Alarm Will Sound, Pacific Musicworks, and Grammy-winning Conspirare. His work as an advocate for community engagement through the arts has taken him as far afield as Chile, where he worked to fuse arts-based design with creative problem-solving in real-world scenarios. He has performed in every conceivable concert venue, from recital halls to the beach, from cathedrals to trailside in a national park.
Blair is the wholesale accounts manager for Haynes. He strives to create and foster authentic relationships between the Haynes Family and Haynes itself, strengthening the greater flute community. He is humbled to be part of the team carrying the legacy of William S. Haynes’ life and work through the modern era.
Primary mentors include Jennifer Parker-Harley, David Cutler, Nicole Lamartine, and Nicole Riner. Blair holds degrees in music education, flute performance and community engagement, and arts innovation. He makes his home in Boston, with his partner and their rescue pup. His life joys outside of music include cooking, photography, tea, and a good book.
