Created by Haynes, this material is a combination of 95% Silver and 5% Gold. The tubing thickness is .014” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

Handmade Fusion I
Created by Haynes, this material is a fusion of two different metals. The outside material is a combination of 95% Silver and 5% Platinum, while the inside material is 14k Rose Gold. The tubing thickness is .014” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

Handmade Fusion O
Created by Haynes, this material is a fusion of two different metals. The outside material is 14k Rose Gold, while the inside is a combination of 95% Silver and 5% Platinum. The tubing thickness is .014” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

Handmade Silver
Coin Silver. Soldered toneholes available in .014”, .016” or .018” tubing thickness. Drawn toneholes available in .016” or .018” tubing.

Handmade Gold
Available in 10k Rose Gold, 14k Rose Gold, and 19.5k Rose Gold. The tubing thickness is .012” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

Handmade Platinum
Platinum with 14k Rose Gold Mechanism. The tubing thickness is .011” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

Handmade Piccolo
Grenadilla or Silver. Grenadilla is available with silver or 14k rose gold mechanism.

The Wm. S. Hanyes Company celebrates the storied streets of its Boston locations with a
new series of handcrafted flute headjoints. These exceptional headjoints are handcut by
master craftspeople with more than seventy five years of combined experience. Each
craftsperson is a fine flute player with several years of experience playing. At Haynes, we
believe that the best flute-makers are flute-players. Flute players making flutes combine
the best crafting skills with the finely tuned ear needed to create that magical sound that
is only Haynes.

made to your specifications of tubing, riser, lipplate and crown.

Custom Handcrafted Flute Headjoints

The Piedmont Street Series

P1: The P1 headjoint gives the flutist modest resistence to create a warm, velvety tone
with colors suited for both soloists and orchestral musicians.

P2: The P2 is for the flutist who seeks more resistence in a headjoint. Because it can
accept more air, the resulting tone is deep and rich with colorful overtones. For
flutists wanting an intense abundant tone, this is the headjoint you are seeking.

The Newbury Street Series

N1: The N1 headjoint features a comfortable modern lipplate that affords moderate
resistence and is suitable for most all playing stayes in general performance. This
headjoint appeals to your creativity.

N2: The N2 is a more free blowing headjoint with a brilliant tone that emphasizes the
higher overtones. If vivid, sparking tone is at the center of your musical reputation
the N2 invites your playing.

The Sudbury Street Series

S1: S1 is a more traditional headjoint modeled from the vintage Haynes and Louis Lot
flutes. Jean Pierre Rampal played this style of headjoint resulting in a deep, dark
sound with increased resistence.

Classic Model Flutes

The newest addition to the Haynes family, the Classic Model represents a collaboration between our workshops in Boston and Beijing. Made in Beijing, each flute is thoroughly tested in our Boston workshop before making its way to its new home. An excellent option for flutists on a budget.
